Freshli, the AI pantry app turning every UK postcode into a food-rescue community, launches v1.2.0 today.
UK households throw away an estimated £17 billion of edible food every year. Freshli's premise is that most of it goes in the bin because people forget what they have, run out of recipe ideas, and have no friction-free way to give surplus to a neighbour. v1.2.0 closes the last gap — the cold-start problem that kills two-sided marketplaces — by guaranteeing every new user lands in a real, named community area on day one.

- 118 UK postcode districts pre-seeded as community areas, from Stornoway to Truro, Belfast to Brighton.
- One-tap "Invite a Neighbour" — both inviter and invitee receive +100 Karma when the friend signs up, and the new user auto-joins the inviter's area.
- Daily streak engine — opens accumulate, with bonus Karma at 7, 14, 30, 60, 100 and 365 days.
- 16-tier achievement system unlocking exclusive icons and donations to FareShare UK, Trees for the Future, and The Felix Project.
- Spotlight pantry search — search "Bananas" from iOS and jump straight into the matched item.

Privacy stance: No ads. No third-party tracking. No IDFA. No remote push. Recipes generated entirely on-device via Apple Intelligence — pantry data never leaves the iPhone for AI generation. Council Impact Reports aggregate at the postcode-district level only, fully anonymised, opt-in.
